La Constitution Ivoirienne - An App for Understanding the Constitution of Côte d'Ivoire
La Constitution Ivoirienne is an Android application developed by AppsCours, designed to provide easy access to all articles of the Constitution of Côte d'Ivoire. This free app aims to provide solutions to questions like who makes the Constitution, what is the composition of the Constitution, who has the initiative of laws in Côte d'Ivoire, and where the publication of a new law takes place in Côte d'Ivoire.
The app is particularly relevant as the President of Côte d'Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, promised a new constitution to replace the 2000 constitution, which has been blamed for the crises in the country due to the concept of Ivoirian identity. A committee of experts was set up by the President in July 2016 to draft a new constitution. The final project, adopted by the government and the National Assembly in October 2016 and published in the official journal, was submitted to the Ivorian people by referendum. The result was the adoption of the new text, promulgated by law n° of November 8, 2016, called the Constitution of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
